J.A. Green Acquires 92 Acres in Jetplex Industrial Park

J.A. Green (JAG) Development Corporation, a Connecticut-based real estate developer, has announced the purchase of 92 acres in Jetplex Industrial Park South to build approximately one million square feet of office and warehouse space. One hundred thousand square feet will contain a cross-dock, air-cargo, and distribution space. Record Growth Defies National Claim of Weak Economy

Huntsville’s International Intermodal Center (IIC) set a new fiscal year record for rail lift volume in fiscal year 2008, which ended June 30 of this year. The IIC recorded a 7.5% increase over the FY 2007 record with final numbers showing a performance of 47,239 rail lifts in FY 2008. In spite of escalating gas prices, continued growth in automotive volume and a new retail distribution center in the area attributed to the increase this past year. “While automotive volume may slow down in FY 2009 due to decreasing demand for larger vehicles and engines, there are also automotive and distribution opportunities on the horizon that could bode well for the Port of Huntsville,” says Jim Hutcheson, Assistant Director of the IIC.

New Wings in Passenger Waiting Area to Offer Panoramic View

Thirty-foot high panoramic windows overlooking airfield operations are beginning to take shape in the passenger waiting area of the Huntsville International Airport.
